"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Run for a Dream Half Marathon - Williamsburg VA

What a great event ... we Ran for the Dream half Marathon in Williamsburg this morning and it was really   a great race.

The course is hilly (a series of long rolling hills ... nothing impossible but still tough) and a little bit longer than 13.1 miles (I know, it's certified but still ... both my time and the GPS distance is way off) but the its a beautiful experience, well worth it!

The race begins on the picturesque campus of the College of William & Mary, winds through iconic Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area, along the James River on the scenic Colonial Parkway and finishes in the college’s football stadium.

Great kudos to the race organizers, you can see all the small things that are good for runners at a race like this, from baggage pick-up to porta-potties, from parking and shuttle services to gear check, the misting tents on the course, a lot of water stations. In addition the first 6000 registrants had a free Busch Gardens pass and a free single-day ticket to Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area. For all this reasons Run for the Dream definitively rates among my favorites Half Marathons.

Final results are posted here.
