DCRRC 2011 Bunion Derby - Awards Ceremony

This last weekend we took some rest and a small vacation. So, instead of writing about races, I will write a couple of lines on the ceremony that took place early this past week.

Last Monday the award ceremony for the 2011 DC Road Runners Club Bunion Derby Series was held at RFD (810 Seventh Street NW, Washington DC). Nice and relaxed atmosphere for a different Monday happy hour amongst friends.

The Bunion Derby is a series of eight races, all of which counts toward series points. Points are awarded in 5-year age groups to the top twenty DCRRC member's places. One must run three races to qualify for an award and a runner's top five races will count in the total scoring for the series.

I couldn't manage to win my age group (Karsten was faster than me almost every race...) but Simonetta did, so kudos to her for the great result!
