"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Run for Haiti 5K - Reston VA

With Lady Spring knocking at the door it's time to start looking at shorter and faster races. That's why last Sunday I took part at the Run for Haiti 5K, race organized by Potomac River Running (Moise Joseph, 2004 Olympian for Haiti, in particular) to raise funds in support of the earthquake relief efforts.

The race started and finished on South Lakes High School track in Reston, VA and continued on the asphalt paths throughout scenic Reston.

Worth mentioning that Hyleas Fountain (2008 Silver Medalist in the Heptathlon), Tiombe Hurd (American Record Holder in the Triple Jump), Bershawn Jackson (World Champion in the 400 Meter Hurdles and  2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist) , and Alan Webb (American Record Holder in the Mile) were at the race on Sunday showing support for Haiti.

Very nice race, well organized, lots of awards, nice T-shirt, and everything for a good cause.

Here the link to the 5k results.
