"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Easter Classic 10K - Alexandria VA

Today I ran the last "long" race prior to the Boston Marathon (I have another 5k left next Friday) in Fort Hunt, south of Alexandria (VA).
The race (by the way, the 10k was preceded by a 5k) was the second chapter of the 2012 Ed Barron Holiday Series Championship organized by Potomac Valley Track Club (PVTC).

Usually this race was held at Belle Haven Park & Marina (Alexandria VA) and the course went out and back along the busy Mt. Vernon Trail; for this reason I really enjoyed the decision to move the race to Fort Hunt.
Personally I think the location is perfect for a low key race; great logistics (restroom and water fountains in the picnic area), lots of parking spots available, wide paths to run and nice hilly course (5 loops for the 10k).

Nice job PVTC in putting together this race, I wish more runners will show up in your future races!

Here the link to the results (potted lilies or chocolate bunnies were awarded to the winners).
