"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Cherry Pit 10 Miler - Edgewater MD

Last Sunday, instead of running the Cherry Blossom 10 miler within the roads of DC, we choose to head eastbound towards Annapolis in order to race the 33rd edition of the Cherry Pit 10 miler.
This race is put on by Annapolis Strider and trust me they're really good in organizing such a nice event at so low cost ($3 for Striders and $5 for non-Striders).
The race starts from South River High School (excellent logistics) and the course loops around some scenic rolling hills south of Edgewater (MD).
For me the race was planned to be a training session - test for Boston, and it worked out very well ... actually I probably ran too fast, but I felt really good on these kind of hills.
I really liked the "cherry theme" awards; first runner in each 10-year age group was awarded a trophy, the second a cherry pie and the third a pack of cherry coke ... very funny.

Here the link to the final results.

Overall really a nice race race that I recommend running. Not as fancy and popular as the Cherry Blossom but worth every cent spent.
