"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Shooting Starr 6K - Silver Spring MD

Here we are ... new year and we are ready to start  a new season of Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC) races.
New bib number, new timing chip but same old great organization and familiar atmosphere ...

It was really cold this morning (30°F) in front of Sligo Middle School at the starting line of the Shooting Starr 6k race (named in memory of club member, Jim Starr) but the pre-race and post race activities held inside the school helped to keep warm the runners.

The race was a two loop course that follows the Sligo Creek Trail towards University Ave, then meanders through side streets, looping back to finish along Dennis Ave near the Middle School.

Once again, well done MCRRC!

Here the results.
