"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

DC Road Runners Club Awards 2011

The 2012 DC Road Runners Club Banquet and Awards Dinner took place last Sunday, March 18 at Maggiano's in Friendship Heights (Washington DC).

I'm very proud and honored to announce that I received the award for 2011 DC Road Runner's Club Male Runner of the Year, and  Simonetta was awarded as 2011 DC Road Runner's Club Most Improved Female of the Year.

Other awards were presented to Audrey Perlow (outstanding female runner), Janet Braunstein and Jim Noone (outstanding masters male and female runner awards), Mark Walchinsky (most improved male runner), Paula Arevalo (volunteer of the year); and the club inducted the late Roger Peet, president of the club for seven years, into its hall of fame.

There is no better way to end a great 2011!

Many Thanks DCRRC!
