"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Marathon & Half Marathon - Washington DC

Saturday March 17 more than 3100 marathoners and 16400 half-marathoners (...what a strange word...) filled the roads of Washington DC for the first ever Rock ‘n’ Roll event in Nation’s Capital.

With sunny skies and the cherry blossoms in full bloom throughout the city, the first SunTrust Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Marathon & CareFirst Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Half Marathon was a great success.

The course is the same of the last 2 editions (when the race was known as National Marathon & HM). Start and finish is located near the RFK Stadium, the race runs entirely within Washington DC, with some long hills and wonderful views of the various
neighborhoods, including historic sites such as Union Station and the National Mall with a view of the White House, the Capitol and the Supreme Court.

Great effort from the organization, almost impeccable considering the challenges of a very warm day and the security issues that a 20000+ participants event in the Nation Capital could raise.
