"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

By George 10K - East Potomac Park Washington DC

The "PVTC's 2012 Ed Barron Holiday Series Championship" started last Saturday with the "By George 10K" on Hains Point.

As mentioned in some old posts, this is a low key race on a 2 times out-and-back very flat course; unfortunately this year just few runners showed-up even if the weather was perfect for a winter run.

As usual, the race honors George Washington's Birthday by giving, as prizes, cherry pies to the top 3 runners in each 10-year age group.
