"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

DCRRC One Hour Track Run - Alexandria VA

Two days packed of races wasn't enough ... so Monday evening we ran one hour on the track.
Every year, in May, Robert Platt puts together this unusual race ... the aim is to is to cover the most distance in one hour of running.
The last two years it took place at the St. Stephens High School Track in Alexandria.
All the runners start at the same place and time with a popsicle in their hand, a couple of "judges" count the laps each runner has completed, and after one hour of running (signaled by Bob's scream) each runner drops its popsicle allowing the detailed measurement.
The race is really cheap (free for DCRRC Members, $5 for non-members), water and Gatorade were available every 400 meters (every lap) and overall it was great fun.

Try it ... it's really a different and nice experience... not as boring as it seems.

Here's the link to the final results.
