"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Cold Turkey 10K - Edgewater MD

A warm and sunny morning in southern Maryland welcomed the runners of the Cold Turkey 10K.
The race, very well organized by Annapolis Striders, started and finished in the parking lot of the South River High School in Edgewater MD (few miles south of Annapolis).
The course, well marked, was an out-and-back along the rural area surrounding the school with a few gentle hills as usual (fortunately this time nothing really impossible).

There was really little to no competition for the first place, Moroccan Rachid Ait Bensalem (a former pro) took easily the lead from the start and never looked back.

Outstanding the variety and the amount of post race refreshments and very nice the award ceremony, although it looked like the prize for second and third overall was of "less value" than the age group winners (don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the Trophy I received and I would not have changed it for any other award ... but maybe that's just me ... I always love to receive a trophy).
