"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Steve Thompson 8K

Last night we took part at the Steve Thompson 8K, race organized by the DC Road Runners Club, the eighth and final chapter of the 2011 Bunion Derby Series.
The race wound its way from Bluemont Park in Arlington (starting at the South Pavilion) along the Four Mile Run Trail, continues north along the W &OD Trail, turn into Custis Trail and then continue until the "turning point" placed after a series of steep hills at Taylor Street (across from Washington Lee High School).
Despite the difficulty of the course the race was very fast (the top 3 finished in sub-28 minutes), most probably the cool evening temperatures helped a lot.
Quick award cerimony and nice prizes, the results are posted here.
