"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

South Fairfax Chamber Challenge 10K - Lorton VA

This morning, at the South County Secondary School in Lorton VA, the third edition of the South Fairfax Chamber Challenge 10K took place.
The undulating course winds through the western streets of Lorton where once stood a Nike missile site (placed there during the Cold War to defend the city of Washington) and a prison, today the first left room to a golf course and the second has become a lovely park (Laurel Hill Park) for a variety of outdoor activities.
I went back to racing this race after winning the first edition (in 2009), and although I was faster than 2 years ago I had to settle for third place (anyhow I'm very happy for the final result).

Here the results (female first and male to follow).
