"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

Baltimore Grand Prix 5K

I already raced in athletics tracks, horse tracks ... but never in a car race track.
Last night I did !
This weekend Baltimore will host the inaugural 2011 Grand Prix (Indycar street circuit) and on Friday, as a side event the first edition of the Baltimore Grand Prix 5K is scheduled.
After a full the afternoon watching the practice sessions (all pre-registered runners received a complementary Grand Prix admission ticket ), we raced on the same streets that the IndyCar Series used. The course covered approximately 1 1/2 loops of the track but was a little shorter than 5k (the course was not USATF certified, lacking about 200 meters by our GPS).
But it was beautiful ! .
Too bad for the course not certified ... the track is fast and it was very exciting to run in it.
Here the results .... BTW: since the first edition I have the record of the race ;-)
